Fight

This floor begins with a fight against two Fausts, and one Hummelfaust. The meat of the fight is the Hummelfaust, which will pop when the two Fausts have been killed, or roughly around one minute if you are late. The Hummelfaust is quick to enrage though; if it’s not killed in the set time, it will enrage and cast a Panzerschreck which will wipe the raid.

The best way to deal with the Hummelfaust is to save a bunch of cooldowns for it; kill the Fausts in time before Hummelfaust forcepops, and then go ham on it. After you’ve defeated Hummelfaust, you gain access to the fight proper. The fight against Ratfinx Twinkledinks does not have set phases; the boss will simply go through a specific set of actions described below.

When the fight starts, the mechanism in the middle will rise, and stepping into the purple area around it will activate the four pools in north, west, east, and south. Stepping into the middle also increases the Goblixer Sample meter, and while it’s higher than zero, the pools stay up. When there are no players in it, the meter will decrease at a slow rate. Staying in the purple area all the time isn’t possible; the area has a 2500 damage DoT tick, and if the Goblixer Sample meter hits 100, that will cause a wipe. If multiple players enter the purple area, Goblixer Sample will increase very fast and quickly cause a raid wipe.

Stepping into any pool will give you a long-lasting stack that is intended to prevent you from entering the pools too much. All of the four pools also have a distinct effect when a player steps into them:

Green negates the effect of Poison and gives you Regen
Red turns the player into a gorilla; this status is used for pushing Smartbombs around
Blue turns the player invisible; this status is used to escape from an add that tethers itself to a player
Purple turns the player into a vulture; this status is used to escape massive ground AOEs by flying

Both the gorilla and vulture statuses can be negated at any time by using the Apothecracy action. If enemies enter these pools they will get buffs, so try to avoid that.

Regarding raid duties, it’s good to designate a player or two to be “openers”, who are allowed to enter the central purple area in order to pop the pools. Also, one of the players should be assigned as the gorilla, who takes care of knocking the Smartbombs around the arena. Recommended roles for these would be healers as openers, and the offtank as gorilla.

General setup of the arena, with waymarks A, B, and C designating different corners (plus an imaginary waymark D):

The timing information listed is based on the clear video, and it may change depending on your party DPS - there may be several additional opportunities to push phases and skip actions.

00:00 Pull, tank the boss on the edge between A and B

00:04 Size change to big

When the size changes to big, Ratfinx Twinkledinks gains the effect of Bigbulge Biggerbrain. Under this effect, the boss will deal more damage, and take less damage (33 % damage reduction).

00:09 Gobjab

This move will give the tank it’s hitting a stack of Headache. At four stacks Headache turns into Concussion and this stuns the tank and increases the damage taken by a great deal. Basically the tank swap mechanic of the fight; the other tank should Provoke after Concussion.

00:13 Gobjab

00:17 Gobjab

00:21 Gobjab

00:28 Either a Gobstraight or a Gobcut

Neither of these moves should hit the tank with Concussion. Gobstraight is a tank buster (line AOE), and the tank should take it alone. Gobcut on the other hand is massive shared damage, a minimum of six players must stack to survive it safely.

If the boss is < 90 % at 00:32:

00:32 Size change to small

If the boss is >= 90 % at 00:32:

00:33 Prey

Prey will pick a random DPS, and after a few seconds, Ratfinx Twinkledinks will dash straight from its current position towards that player. The damage from the dash is relative to the length of the dash. Any players caught in the dash path will generally get one shot.

00:39 Gobdash

Deals damage based on distance from the dash starting point. If the dash deals any damage, assuming the player doesn’t die, they will get an Enervation debuff which will decrease their damage output a lot. Stoneskin etc may help with this, if the player is somewhat close. It’s however always perfectly safe to go to the completely opposite side of the boss.

00:44 Size change to small
(add 12 seconds to further timings)

00:36 Glupgloop

A red indicator appears on a player, and after a few seconds, they will drop a ground AOE at their position. This AOE turns into a poison puddle that lasts for 20 seconds. These should be placed on the edges, preferably between a pool spot and the corner, so they are not blocking a pool that might be needed, or a corner players need to escape bombs to.

00:46 Glupgloop

00:54 2x Glassy-eyed Cobra at B and C

These adds can put a stacking DoT of Anti-coagulant on players, and that DoT will continuously increase in stacks (and damage) until the player dies or it’s dispelled in the green pool. Remember to pull the boss away from the green pool though. Both tanks need to pick one up, the tank holding the boss can pick up the one at B (moving to B as well) and the other tank can go to C.

00:56 Shock Therapy

Raid AOE for a few thousand damage.

00:59 Steel Scales

After spawning, the Glassy-eyes Cobras will soon start channeling Steel Scales. This grants them Damage Up stack, but it can (and should) be stunned.

01:21 Bomb’s Away: 1x Bomb, 2x Smartbomb

Bomb is the huge spiked bomb, and Smartbombs are round bombs with fuses. The bombs explode differently; the Bomb explodes like bombs in Bomberman (a plus pattern), and the Smartbombs explode radially like other bombs in the game you may have come across (for example, Alexander Gordias 2). In this pattern, all three will pop at the same time. The Bomb will pop at one corner, and the Smartbombs somewhere in the middle. One of the players need to enter the red pool to turn into a gorilla, and then use Browbeat to knock the Smartbombs to the same corner with the Bomb. Meanwhile, the rest of the party goes to the opposite corner of the Bomb.

01:40 Size change to big

01:44 Boost

This signals the start of a series of moves starting with bombs and ending with four ground AOEs. All players need to enter the purple pool to turn into vultures in order to avoid massive damage from ground AOEs (Gobswing). During a Boost a bomb pattern will also appear.

01:51 4x Bomb

Four bombs will pop in a diagonal pattern, one at a time. The first bomb will always drop into one of the corners. Figure out where the first bomb drops, then move to the bomb right next to it, wait for the Bomb in the corner to explode and then move to the corner.

01:54 Gobswing

One shot to all players who are not flying / turned into vultures.

01:56 Gobswing

01:58 Gobswing

02:00 Gobswing

02:06 Prey

02:12 Gobdash

02:14 Gobhook

After the dash, the boss will face a random direction and start channeling this move. It’s roughly a 160 degree frontal cone, which will oneshot anyone it hits. Get behind the boss right after the dash to dodge this.

02:25 Gobjab

02:30 Gobjab

02:34 Gobjab

02:38 Gobjab

02:46 Gobcut (stack for shared damage)

02:50 Size change to small

02:52 1x Gobbledygroper at D

This add will be tethered to one player when it pops, and itwill chase that player and ignore aggro unless the tether is broken. This can be done by having the tethered player turn invisible by running into the blue pool. The add cleaves so don’t stand in front of it.

03:11 Glupgloop

03:23 Bomb’s Away: 1x Bomb, 2x Smartbomb, 1x Bomb

One Bomb spawns first in one of the corners, and the rest appear later. The other Bomb appears in the directly opposite corner, and the Smartbombs in the middle. The corner where the first Bomb spawns is your safe corner; push the Smartbombs into the corner with the Bomb that spawned later, wait for the first Bomb to explode, and then enter that corner.

03:27 Shock Therapy

Bunch of raid-wide AOEs, this is a good moment to burn the boss especially since it doesn’t have damage reduction.

03:35 Shock Therapy

03:43 Shock Therapy

03:51 Shock Therapy

03:59 Shock Therapy

04:07 Size change to big

04:11 Boost

Players need to enter the purple pool to turn into vultures again, there will be more oneshot ground AOEs coming.

04:18 3x Bomb

Three Bombs will appear around the area, in a pattern that covers a 4x4 grid:

There is always one column and one row where there is no bomb in sight, and that is the safe spot. In the example above, it would be in the corner at C, but the safe spot is of course not guaranteed to be in a corner. To deal with this, it’s important to have a good view of the battlefield in order to quickly locate the safe spot in the 4x4 grid.

04:20 Gobswing

04:22 Gobswing

04:24 Gobswing

04:26 Gobswing

04:44 Prey

04:46 Prey

This time, there are two Preys. Assuming the boss is at A, one way to deal with this is that the first Prey goes to B, and the second one hides behind the boss. The rest of the party gets away from the dash path, and the boss will first dash to B, and then it returns to A.

04:48 Gobcut

04:53 Gobdash

04:57 Gobdash

04:59 Gobhook (get behind the boss)

05:10 Gobjab

05:14 Gobjab

05:18 Gobjab

05:22 Gobjab

05:29 Gobstraight (tank buster)

05:46 Size change to small

05:54 1x Glassy-eyed Minotaur at A, 6x Yorn Pig at B

The Minotaur is a fairly resilient add, that behaves a bit like the boss in Fractal Continuum. It will consume any adds it encounters, and it has a hard-hitting frontal cone. The boss should be tanked at C, and the Yorn Pigs should also be following (healer aggro) to C. One tank need to pick up the Minotaur, and once the Pigs have vacated B, the Minotaur should be moved to B. If the Minotaur consumes any Pigs, they will give it a Damage Up stack.

05:56 2x Gobbledygawker at C and D

These adds will do Bomb Toss, which is medium AOE damage, and Oogle, which is A5s version of Petrifaction. The Gobbledygawker at C should be killed as soon as possible, and then the Gobbledygawker at D. After these are dead, all DPS should go on the boss.

06:03 Oogle

Both Gobbledygawkers will do Oogle, which is functionally the same as Petrifaction in every other fight; if you’re looking at the add, you’ll get petrified.

06:16 3x Yorn Pig at A, 1x Glassy-eyed Cobra at B

More Yorn Pigs will pop at A and go towards C after healer aggro, and the Cobra will spawn where the Minotaur is. They key to killing the Minotaur easily is the Cobra; when the Minotaur consumes the Cobra, it will gain a stack of Anti-coagulant, which works just like the player version. The Minotaur will succumb to the poison in no time. If there’s a caster in the party, using caster LB3 on all the Yorn Pigs and the boss at C is a good idea.

Also keep in mind the timer on your Goblixer Overgulp status. By now everyone has accumulated enough stacks that if it expires, it will turn into Goblixer Grumblygut, which is a 5000 damage DoT on the player. It’s a really good idea to refresh the timer with the green pool, especially with all the AOEs coming out.

06:37 Shock Therapy

06:45 Shock Therapy

06:53 Shock Therapy

07:01 Shock Therapy

07:09 Shock Therapy

07:17 1x Glassy-eyes Shabti at C

This add should just be tanked where it spawns and killed as soon as possible. It has a Critical Strikes status, which makes all its attack critical.

07:20 Size change to big

07:30 Gobjab

07:34 Gobjab

07:38 Gobjab

07:42 Gobjab

07:50 Gobcut (stack for shared damage)

07:58 Size change to small

08:01 1x Gobbledygroper at D

Second spawn of the add tethered to a player; the tethered player needs to go invisible by entering the blue pool.

08:19 Glupgloop

08:32 Bomb’s Away: 1x Bomb, 2x Smartbomb, 1x Bomb

This is the same pattern as at 03:23; one Bomb spawns first in one of the corners, and the rest appear later. Push the Smartbombs into the corner with the Bomb that spawned later, wait for the first Bomb to explode, and then enter the corner where the first Bomb was.
